The Heart Shopping Centre in Walton-On-Thames is welcoming February with their monthly Farmers’ Market. On Saturday 3 rd February, between 9:30am and 2:00pm, customers can enjoy an amazing array of produce, from delicious breads, cheeses, preserves and delicacies, to street food, unique craft wares and gifts.
One of the stalls that can be found at the market is manned by dedicated regulars, Nut Knowle Farm, who have been at The Heart’s Farmers’ Markets, every month since they were first set up. Nut Knowle Farm was established in 1979, and now produces a comprehensive range of Vegetarian, Pasteurised Goats Milk Cheeses to suit all palates. The cheeses are lovingly made by hand in their own dairy.
Over the past twenty years Goats Cheese has enjoyed an upsurge in popularity because of its exceptional flavour, its health benefits, its lower fat content and its versatility. It can be served on the Cheeseboard and can be used with great success in cooking.
The team at Nut Knowle Farm has perfected the art of cheese making to such an extent that they won 'Best British Goat Cheese' with their Saint George Cheese - a camembert-type cheese, kept in their maturing rooms for about two weeks. It can be eaten young, or will develop more flavour and 'run' as it matures.
Customers will find 14 different handmade Artisan Goat Cheeses - some very rustic, given the trend for consumers moving away from plastic wrapped cheeses. Each cheese can be tasted prior to purchase, ensuring that customer satisfaction is guarantee.
The event is the ideal way for customers to spend a Saturday morning soaking up the hustle and bustle of the traditional-style market.
Centre Manager, Mark Middleton says, “We’re looking forward to welcoming both returning and new visitors to this month’s Farmer’s Market. As always, the market offers a wealth of produce from local and national independent traders and provides a great opportunity to sample some truly unique products.”
