We don’t know about you, but checks have been a staple in our wardrobes since before we can remember. Admittedly, in the form of a check shirt (or 10). But for now, we’re putting the plaid to bed and styling from the bottom up because this season’s must-have trend is the check trouser. Fancy adding a pair or two to your repertoire? Here’s how to make them work for both the 9-5 and your weekend wardrobe…

Whether you’re off to a wedding, heading to the races or just wanting to look your best for a mid-week meeting, there’s nothing better than cracking out a killer suit. Put your plain black option back in the wardrobe, it’s time to step it up with this navy jacket and check trouser combo – subtle enough that it’s not scary and suave enough to turn heads. Top the look off with your favourite Derbys or team with loafers for a more laid back look.
Feeling a bit more bold? Go for grey. The lighter tone really helps the check to pop! Perfect to pair with tan accessories – we love this Chronograph watch from Timex.
You might assume suit trousers are meant for smart occasions but that’s not strictly true. One of our favourite ways to style them this season has to be with a classic polo. This tipped knitted polo keeps things casual whilst acting as the perfect transition into autumn. Team with trainers and a lightweight jacket – and you’ve got yourself a really well thought out look.
Whilst we’re talking seasons, nothing says autumn quite like burgundy. Introducing tonal shades to your transitional wardrobe is a great way to ease yourself into the new season. Wear now with this bubble knit crew for super cosy styling. And if this summer’s glorious weather decides to see us through September and beyond, why not try going a little lighter with this geometric print polo and a pair of your favourite sunglasses.
